The Tampa Bay Sentinels are
the 3rd public safety football team to join the National Public Safety
League from Tampa. The first Tampa Bay team to join the N.P.S.F.L was
the Tampa Bay Guardians which represented the Tampa Bay area from 1993-1999
and was a founding city of the league. In 1999 the team split apart.
Half the team went to the Orlando area forming the now Orlando Guardians
and the other half stayed in Tampa forming the Pinellas Posse later called
the Tampa Bay Posse. The Tampa Bay Posse represented the bay area from
2000-2003. The Tampa Bay Public Safety Charity, Inc was formed in May of 2007 to manage the Tampa Bay Sentinels, a public safety football team. The TBPSC and the Sentinels work together in support of other Tampa Bay area charity organizations by raising funds through sponsors and by playing against other public safety football team throughout the country. A portion of money that is raised will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of the Suncoast and the Dixie Jr. Rebels, a youth football program at the end of the season.
